Some new skincare!

Always exciting, hoping you'll find those miracle products.

Hebridean Dew Skincare

'a range of skincare products which combines seaweed extract with natural spring water from a healing Hebridean spring. The resulting mineral rich extract is then blended with other carefully selected organic ingredients to create the skincare range.'

My mum was lucky enough to be given a bag of 4 products

from the range.

But I was straight in there to give them a go!

so after using them, I thought i'd do a post :)

The Seaweed Face Mask/Exfoliator

I love these. I had tried one from Lush previously,

but it never quite did the job.

So I was excited to try this.

The powder is so fine, its really easy to make a mess!

As with other powder masks,

you mix it with some warm water to form a paste,

and cover your face and neck in it.

Then leave it for 5-10 minutes.

Lovely haha.

I can honestly say,

nothing has EVER smelt so natural.

Absolutely no denying that this is seaweed,

because I smelt like i'd been swimming in a rock pool,

or hanging with some sort of sea monster.

My green face probably added to effect!

Luckily, I quite like the smell!

The rest of my family..not so much!

Once it had dried, I used warm water again to wash it off.

Seaweed Cleanser

This looks a nice white creamy colour, but I found with this..

and the mist, once I used a wipe on my face

it was a distinct green colour!

I thought I was just dirty,

guarantee..I now know i'm not

and that it was remnants of the products!

Seaweed Mist

Spray onto a wipe,

and gently clean face

(Use as a toner)

Seaweed Face Cream

This is your moisturiser,

I will admit this was too heavy for my skin.

My mum has been using this product though, and she tells me that it is great.

I have normal/oily combination skin

and it just magnified my problems areas!

So I probably wouldn't use this again,

but I would say it depends on your skin type!

I'm told it has been compared to Creme De La Mer

At a fraction of the price,

make of that what you will!

I am not as fortunate to compare them myself!

I have felt my skin improve in the short while I have been using the products.

I have been complimented on having a 'glow'

which I love!

My dry areas are now gone, and my skin feels a lot brighter.

I also feel my skin is less oily (when I avoid the moisturiser)

It just looks better.

Must be all the Hebridean goodness haha :)

One thing I feel needs said though

CHANGE THE PACKAGING.

You can just tell that men chose it.

(And I know they did, my cousin told me!)

Its plastic, with stick on labels..

and i'm not keen on the font either.

What are your views?

I think a Clarins look would be so much nicer.

Invest in basic glass jars, and print the labels onto them.

It would make such a difference!

The cost of the four products was £60.

However, they can be bought individually at a lesser price.

I think it was definitely worth it,

but had I seen it in a shop,

I most likely wouldn't have paid due to the packaging.

To feel that this is an exclusive product,

an expensive product,

you should not use plastic packaging!

Here I am once again.

Housebound!

Its all good and fun at Christmas when its by choice,

but jeepers!

At the moment we have an Amber Alert for the wind.

I was supposed to be going home tomorrow

for my birthday on Thursday

but all ferries have been cancelled!

Luckily though (I hope)

my lovely family have paid for flights instead :)

Anyway, moan moan!

Went out for lunch today with my mum and my cousin,

I am having problems eating on my antibiotics,

but it was nice to see people!

and get some fresh air!

Nothing too exciting!

Certainly no trips down the pub for me!

Wore my new pussybow from Primark.

Sometimes that shop does good.

I love it a little too much!

I've been looking online, but nothings caught my eye!

I am in Stornoway at the moment,

the weather is horrendous..lights flickering non stop.

I can't say i've been on the computer much,

got a good book and i've been so distracted!

Love when that happens though!

Christmas this year was a funny thing,

we don't watch tv or go on the computer..

or pretty much anything on a Sunday!

So thank goodness its a couple of years until the next!

I missed watching all the rubbish tv!

I bought this red polka dot Primark dress,

after losing my Topshop one with the scalloped collar!

So sad! It MUST be somewhere!

As I mentioned on twitter the other night

I had the chance to pick 3 ladies to get a gift from Aussie!

Over the past couple of weeks I have been sent some interesting gifts,

which I love!

They are so so thoughtful!!

The first being a MAHOOSIVE bottle of shampoo

Ah, I kid..I kid

It's a giant inflatable bottle to celebrate

the new bigger and better Aussie bottles..woo!

and then tooooooday, I was just spoilt!

With another giant bottle

which has a personal message!

Best present so far.

Thank you soo much!

I really love it!

And now that my last bottle of Aussie is finished,

I can't wait to get started on these lot!

We had our works Christmas meal last night,

laughs and drama a plenty!

But that's what people want isn't it?

It was a good night,

didn't drink a lot, but didn't sleep a lot either

so my face is hidden!

Not that y'all would care/notice :)

SO casual.

Went for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat today.

Haven't worn this Topshop striped top in an AGE

and put a basic H&M vest underneath

matched with H&M tube skirt and leggings.

Please excuse that my hair is a mess also,

after all the teasing and hairspray of last night..

I just scrunched it up until later!

I also wore my new favourite booties!

Wearing them everywhere,

still love my Ambush boots but y'know!

These have a lower heel and are slightly more practical for running around?

Loving zips?

I wanted these for a long time,

but they were quite alike my Ambush boots..

annoyingly, when I made up my mind to buy them..

they were sold out!

But they are back now!

My blog is not strictly fashion, beauty..or all things frivolous!

I also want to speak about lifestyle, opinions,

and interact with others!

Who for the most part, (well, the frivolous part) are like minded!

I have mentioned before, but not often..that I am from the North West of Scotland.

An Island called Lewis, and I was brought up in the town of Stornoway :)

Which I couldn't be more proud of!

You may have seen/heard a lot about Stornoway in the news this week

if you live in the UK!

Sadly, not for the right reasons.

This means a lot to me, so please bear with me!

Just over a nine days ago, a 16 year old boy, Liam Aitchison was found murdered. His body left in

an abandoned building for about a week.

The police are still investigating this, they have dedicated a lot of time, and people.

I have a lot of faith in them!

I am aware that the majority, if not all of my 'followers'

will have never heard of Lewis..never been to Stornoway..

or ever plan to go! (although you should!)

It may be surprising, but this is the first murder on the island in over 40 years.

This was reason for it becoming front page news in a lot of papers!

Something which is almost unheard of these days, and we have become so desensitised to

seeing violence, hearing of murder..mass murder on a weekly basis!

On Tuesday 6th December, this also led to it being discussed on

'The Wright Stuff' on Channel5

In a 20 second segment, the host, Matthew Wright,

made some comments.

Which first of all I would like to make clear as there has been a lot of debate,

were off the cuff, and thoughtless. Nevertheless, horribly offensive to the situation, and the completely insensitive to the family.

Death and murder are hard enough to for those left behind to live with, but the death of a child, I find is no

laughing matter! In any circumstance, or should have even come into a light hearted segment.

I found him to be very thoughtless and crass indeed.

We may not come from the most 'populous area' as he said,

but we have certainly shown that we are a community.

Not a mob, on a witch hunt.

But a community which is hurt,

and although we may be a minority,

I can guarantee no one would have let him get away with such comments

had it been about Milly Dowler, Holly and Jessica or the many others

who have been taken, and left us with heartache from such a loss!

And to make matters worse, his forced apology the following day

in which he told people in basic terms, I am sorry if you were offended by my comments, and not a sincere I am sorry if I offended you..

and there is a difference!

and also telling the people complaining to 'grow up'.

I just find this unacceptable.

I will add that he added a more sincere apology again today,

but I suspect that was, being honest, probably more

for the backlash he is now getting, than because he wanted to!

Jeremy Kyle may be a lot of things Matthew,

but at least he can admit when hes wrong.

I want to stress again that this is not a witch hunt,

but this happens all too often now, and sometimes you need to be held responsible.

Yes opinions are allowed, but what ever happened to 'If you have nothing nice to say,

say nothing at all'!

The family are undoubtedly going through enough,

and people being up in arms about Matthew Wrights comments is not to add to that,

And I believe the family know that due to their statement.

The last thing that family should have had to do, is defend the child they have just

lost and condemn the comments made on the show.

But I also hope that the publicity over the comments made, do not define Liam,

and simply shows the immense support within our community for his family,

and each other!

I am not asking anyone to complain,

please don't see it as a negative,

but simply a way to show support to the family

for the added hurt that has been caused!

The Christmas lights are up,

there is a distinct fresh crispness about the air outside..

and everyone in town is a bit manic!

Definitely getting that feeling!

And although I haven't yet started with my Christmas shopping,

I have been spending a lot of time

cuddled up at home with a warm drink,

OH LAWD..

I have a dress...or 2..

Not what I thought I would pick, but I am a princess haha :)

The dress for me HAS to be Cinderella!!

With the sparkly beading and waist slimming bodice, with netting covered in glitter..

needn't bother trying to tell me i'm not special in this!

Of course they do all the other princess' but none caught my eye quite

which is a shame, as Ariel and Belle are my favourites!

I saw this lipstick a month or two ago,

wasn't sure whether to get it as I normally

do a little blog stalking and look for pictures first!

And MeMeMe have a fairly pricey collection for a drugstore brand,

although I have heard a lot of good things..I hadn't bought anything in yonks!

But alas..I couldn't find anything, so bit the bullet after a bad day at work

paid my £8.50 and came home with my lipstick

China Rose - Eva

I love the packaging, plain and simple, and it comes in a kitsch little box

to vamp it up a little.

Being the strange one I am, I keep all lipsticks in their boxes!

so this is a nice addition to all the MAC ones in my box.

Its a really wearable, almost dusky pink.

No doubt, there is something similar in my collection..

but I am really liking this.

Its really moisturising, as it has Shea Butter and Vitamin E..so good

for these Wintry conditions :)

I definitely recommend these!

I think the other colours look lovely, but again..I haven't seen

many posts of people wearing them?

I am such a scatty person!

The majority of my life is so routine,

I don't live in such an exciting place

that i'm subject to a lot of change!

Or opportunities!

I am not one of those who carries a diary,

who has alerts on my phone.

or to do lists.

What little I do have to remember,

remains in my wishy washy head.

I wish I was one of these people though,

Can't tell you how many times I wonder..

when patients of my age come into work,

how so many can have plans for a certain day..6 months in advance.

My life is a bore!

But I do have an imagination,

most certainly the type to go to bed..

and then think of all the things I want to do, things to say to people,

to go and see..must remember to go and buy!

So I went to the lovely Paperchase to buy

myself a notepad.

I WILL become more adult haha..

guaranteed it will be filled with scribbles,

I am back from Newcastle!!

Busy busy weekend!

Got the keys to my new flat on Friday,

but also left to go away on Friday pm..after work ahhh!

So I went away for a lovely weekend,

my first time in Geordie land.. but I loved it!

SO confusing to find places.. well, of what we were looking for

but still lovely, love the accent!

And shopping is briiilll!

Would definitely go again.

Saturday night was madness, because I believe

there was a football game on as well,

couldn't believe how dressed up people were..so early, like 6pm

(and a lot quite old a tarty? SOZ but looked like they were having a blast!)

haha but a lot of beautiful ladies!

So I wasn't sure what to expect, or what to wear to fit in (I didn't)

but I chose a dress and boots!

Just my standard face haha :)

River Island dress which I LOVE!

Its silver and sparkly..and a little shapeless with little sleeves!

My fave!

I have no time for my flabtastic arms!

And of course, Topshop Ambush booties

just saying it makes me want to flick my leg up ..LOOK LOOK haha :)

Just annoying I didn't have MY things with me to accessorise and just a little case

of random items!

And on the second night I wore my horsey playsuit..and horsey bag..

and we didn't realise at the time but my friend had on a horsey jumper haha

We must have looked like THE biggest creeps around!

But now it is back to the real world..

where I have no bed..no sofa..no internet..no phone.. well,

I feel like I am forever asking the same questions about my hair!

Should I be blonde..should I be dark..

Ahh.. when i'm blonde, i'm longing for something more,

when i'm brunette I get bored really quickly :)

Fickle, I don't deny it haha

But I got myself into the same situation last weekend!

I bought some dark dye..and some blonde..

I couldn't decide..

Eventually, I thought if I go blonde and hate it

I can dye it dark..and not so much the other way around!

I didn't go all over, and its a warmer colour than I have had previously so I don't look

quite so pale!

Excuse the mad, verging on 80s hazard to the o-zone layer hair pics :)

Not my usual, but why not try something different once in a while!

Have I ever told you that I hate not being able to wear

nail varnish to work haha :)

Cos I do!

Bought 2 of the Max Factor mini's

as they were 2 for £7 in Boots

and I really really wanted the silver one!

Really disappointed though :(

I've taken a couple of pics but my camera was playing up and doing

funky things to my pictures again ha,

mind of its own!

I have seen a coupla folks asking around

about camera's, or saying that they would like to buy a new camera

and I was wondering, what do you all use?

Back to nails though!

My pics aren't great cos my camera is on its way out,

but something came over me the other day and they were the first things I reached for,

but in a moochy, just looking more casual than suitable casual sense!

Primark Outfit Pieces!

I am now back in Aberdeen,

after a lovely couple of days in Stornoway!

As I said before, I forgot my connection for the camera..

and it's funny how difficult it is to take pictures somewhere unfamiliar!

This is just going to be a jumble of a post!

I've bought a few things I might show..

either alone, or as an outfit.

And might do one with pics taken from Stornoway

as we were quite lucky and got some good eens! :)

Sorry that the outfit had to be mirror shots haha..

I was at my grandparents, and they clearly don't set up their rooms for people

taking pictures of themselves!!

I wore my Urban Outfitters blouse as I love the collar, with a Primark cardigan over..

and I found matching earrings in the bedroom!!!

My cousin must have bought them when she visited and completely forgot haha

Sure she wouldn't mind :)

I'm such an old lady..matchy matchy!

I saw a woman probably in her 70s pick up the same cardigan and

I think we both gave each other a .. is this too old/young for me look.

Just paired it with trusty shorts as we were going for a long walk in the Castle Grounds!

I also bought some little boots from Primark before travelling,

something comfy to walk in

They are the darker brown colour from the picture below!

And kinda fuzzy haha?

But very cosy and comfortable!

I have my eye on another pair of boots from Primark with a tweed style section..

hmm.. :) I tend to go on a whim while i'm there!

on the 26th of July (I know the date, it was that bad)..and I am still waiting for my replacement.

I am now severely depressed.

A bit dramatic I know,

but C'MON!

Slightly different post for me today :)

A hair one, ahhh!

Hardly ever do those!

I have been asked quite a few times what products I use,

so thought i'd post my most used of the moment,

or favourites!

Not all, but some!

I am no hair buff, I like what I like..

but always willing to try new things so please do advise!

I usually wash my hair with Aussie shampoo/conditioner

Luscious Long.. and 3 minute miracle once a week

for frizz I think?

I am a child, without a doubt the one hair product I NEED

after a shower is 'no more tangles' haha.

You can probably see how much i've used.

It smells good, and it works!

Tangles really upset and frustrate me,

especially when my hair was longer, it was such a chore

after washing it!

Johnsons are miracle workers!

Along with a handy tangle teezer.

However, I do also spray in a little leave in coditioner (not always, but when a bit dry or

knotted)

Again, Aussie

I really love the smell of their products,

I know when I swoosh my hair, people smell it

haha!

It's one of those smells you will recognise once you have used it!

And I love that in a brand!

This is a limited edition bottle for celebrating Aussie-versary Australia -

Fireworks ahoy to brighten up my bathroom!

I have these bottles hiding everywhere!

Went on a haircare splurge!

And lastly, some VO5 mousse,

I can't say this is a favourite!

But its what I have in, so I will jolly well use it :)

It can leave my hair feeling a little tacky if its not dried properly,

but I just use a tiny bit in the roots, and underneath

as my hair can get a little fluffy!

Then coiff it as I so wish!!

I don't often use my straightners, I really try not to put too much heat on!

but sometimes if I have air dryed my hair and am going to curl/straighten

I squish a little L'Oreal HotStraight spray in it and straighten away!

It doesnt smell of much..or feel THAT protective but it does leave a little shine

and better than nothing!

On those in between days, I am trying something new!

I am a Batiste lover, as many of you are!

But as there was an offer in boots 2 for £5 on Tresemme products

I got their Instant fresh dry shampoo for oily hair,

its a bigger bottle but I think... I might actually prefer it!

Just a little! Not so powdery, and easier to work in your hair!

I also like to spray a little gloss in my hair before I go out,

I like that, freshly dyed hair shine people have!

So instead of ruining my hair!

I just have to make it up somehow :)

However I do enjoy some old skool DAX wax and hairspray!

I am not so much of a bag person..

not that I don't have a horrendous collection hiding somewhere!

I wrote a post previously

to say how much I wanted the Topshop Ambush boots!

And I have bought a pair, in the tan..

I haven't seen any black anywhere online in my size

that I could get my paws on!

I like the tan..but I still NEED the black in my life..

I need to loot someones house or something..

Obsession doesn't even cover it!

I also bought some black Carvela courts from the ASOS sale

And finaly some anchor slipper socks or footies or whatever it is they

are calling them haha

Can't shake my nautical love!

Another slightly mad night out last night!

The best ones are never planned :)

We met a lovely bunch of boys from Dundee.

A slightly crazy Geordie..who did a nice job cracking my back!

Much needed though.

Gave my hair waves quickly before heading out,

my hair was a bit wild!

And my makeup was as per usual..

Black eyeliner, lots of mascara, pink cheeks and peach lips!

Not sure if you saw my twitter rant last week,

but my card was eaten by a Sainsburys card machine.

And I was told 7-10 days before I could get a new one.

So I am living on a budget, horrible..HAD to happen the day I got paid!

I have SO much love for Rose Gold,

that I decided to branch out and try another!

I like a shimmery blush, and this seemed the only other to match other than

Rose Gold!

It is far more pinky/purple.

More flushed in Winter sort of colour.

Very pretty though, not as shimmery as Rose Gold

but still very pretty indeed.

So I left you guys with an outfit post before I went out last night.

But I did change before that.

Due to our 'tropical' storms.

But this is Aberdeen, and there is nothing tropical about it.

Just the same rain we get every other week

What was intended to be

a night at my friends, friends local..

(which turned out to be a dive,

so we went to the bar next door..

out one door and in the other..

yep, same bar haha)

Anyway, headed into town later on.

And the nights you don't plan always turn out the craziest!

Had a fabby night out last night

with the bestie!

I was really missing long hair,

so stuck in my extensions..

although they need a trim to match my shorter do now!

So I curled them and hoped for the best ha

I have been stuck at home all day with a cold,

typical afrer all the nice weather,

I have spent all day inside

Today, I am being a loser.

I should be in work..

actually I should have just finished..

but I feel horrible!

I can't tell you how much I hate/feel guilty taking days off.

But I never do, so I hope people know I genuinely

feel crap when I do take time off :)

I decided to do another 'Dear Diary..' post..

as I do when I want a moan!

Get things off my chest haha..

So today..I am feeling crap, as I said

*poor me*

but i'm getting into a bad mood because

other people make me feel bad about myself.

I don't think i'm a horrible person,

but when people who I deem to be

less than approachable don't like me,

it raises some issues in my head?!

You can't get on with everyone!

I know that, I don't try to!

Some people just don't like each other for whatever reason.

But what do I do that is so bad?

I am not outspoken..however if you have annoyed me

do expect to get the cold shoulder until I get over it in my head :)

I don't do confrontation, I like a gossip as most other people.

I never intentionally try to hurt people.

I would hate to think I have offended someone with something I say,

unless..like I said in my previous posts you are a waste of space (at work) HA

contradicting myself? It happens :)

But its not something these people aren't aware of or admit themselves.

I couldn't care if these people don't want to be my facebook 'friend'.

We aren't friends, whatever..big loss.

We would never talk to each other 'IRL' or ever meet, if we didn't have to

work together. We are ALL so different!

What bothers me is..

I think you are the horrible one.

But if someone finds me bad enough to delete..

raises questions as I said?

How can YOU think I'M the bad one?!

I am clearly too straight laced.

I don't do narcotics, I don't drink much, i'm not promiscuous..

I have hopes..aspirations

I think i'm better than some people I know..

not in a horrible way,

I am not saying they are below me or however you could interpret it,

but simply because I want something more for myself

than to be a middle aged, hard faced..cynical person

.I want to grow up to achieve something.

But yeh, while these people will never give it a second thought..

Taking the moral highground..haha..laughable!

Because they are the worst.

I am left feeling like a bad person.

Which leaves me uncomfortable around people

you are always being judged by!

You know they talk about you, but you still have to put on this polite facade.

How do you rise above it?

Be yourself, when that's what people are judging?

These are the people I spend most of my time with.

Are they nice? Are they not?

I wanted some that weren't too high,

They also come in a taupe colour, but black is too versatile

not to choose!

I never think to look there..but I love that they do half sizes!

Gradual Tan for Summer #

This is a slightly different post for me!

Normally it's outfits..my mug, or just things i've been buying I put on here.

I don't attempt to review

because I wouldn't know where to start!

So i'm not going to!

I'm just going to put up some pics..

and say a comment or two on it!

Is that the same haha?

I just won't go into any detail!

I like a bit of tan,

I am not one of those who wears it all the time..

but when the weather is a little nicer it does make me

feel a little better about myself to have some colour!

I am not the only one walking down the street

looking like a milk bottle and having the light reflect off me!

But I never really tried gradual tanners..

because I thought they took too long to get a result haha..

LAZY.. I like an instant fix!

Howeverrr..I did buy Palmers Natural Bronze gradual tan

last weekend.

Sounds silly..I heard lots of good things about the Garnier one,

and nothing about Palmers..but I like the smell of their body butter

so that's the one I went for!

I really like it though,

I still haven't read any reviews?

I suppose I have it now..do I really need to?

I've tried it?!

It has the nice cocoa butter smell I like,

and yes, it is gradual in the sense..

you put it on like moisturiser and see no tan..

but within a couple of hours, that's you!

I was expecting a week or so for it to start showing up properly!

But this is after 2 applications..2 days apart

It looks a little bit orange in my non flash pictures!

But fear not, it is quite nice and natural!

And I think even though I have makeup on..and using flash

my face does look a little more bronze :)

And best of all..and I can say this,

because as I said, I thought it would take a week or so to develop,

I wasn't too careful with applying..

but it isn't streaky at all!

I have no patches!

HI GUYS!

Need to get my blogging mojo back in gear.

It comes and goes in bursts!

This weekend has been pretty hectic..

I was up at 5am on Saturday to get the 6.30 bus to Glasgow!

Where I got my hair done :)

I will do a post on that tomorrow when I don't look so tired and rough!

I did take some pics yesterday though!

Me and my friend also went shopping, complete rush!

I did go mad for crosses..

bought a nice holiday top, and some body spray!

Sadly not much else but I shall do a post next week

to show you guys, and to add the jewels I bought in Primark last weekend!

Today though, had to relax!

Me and the boy drove out into the country, went to look at a castle,

take some pretty pics..and have a nice meal!

I had lovely bruschetta and then sea bass..

he had prawn cocktail and pizza haha..

Kinda nice to get out of the city every now and then don't you think?

It really reminds me why I love Scotland.

It's been a while since I last posted!

So i'll just run through the time passed since then

I went to Glasgow for the weekend (last weekend)

to meet up with a friend of mine for her birthday..

I think everyone has a friend that they just go a bit wild with..

and she is mine!

I was WRECKED.

And I dunno..we went to a karaoke bar (which I don't do..ever!)

and then to Jumpin Jaks.. really?

Do you still have the pleasure of that place in England too?

Never been before, it was enjoyable on the night..

but not sure for the right reasons haha..

LONG week at work again, but enjoyed it more than I have been!

Today I went shopping with my aunty, little cousin and her friend.

This week is dragging.

Tomorrow is only Wednesday, sickening!

Work is doing my head innn..

I can't even tell you how much I want to cry while i'm there,

I almost feel like a 2 for 1 with my nursing/reception.

Simply because a couple of the girls are LAZYYYY

Everyone else needs to pick up the slack!

You know, day off here, day off there..and when you get fed up of it

and don't want to do their job for them,

you get slaaaaaated.

Maybe makes me more annoyed because they get away with it,

and still think they are so hard done by.

They need a smack.

Reality check :)

I think everyone works with someone like this,

it's nothing personal (although verging) just work ethics, I have one.

I have never had the urge..or delusions that short hair would suit me!

My head is far too round :)

I can't even pull off the colour, I look so pale!

and I am exhausted..I have been ready for bed since around 4pm!

It's been a long week.

I went with my boss and 2 of the dentists..

an odd evening, not really work related

other than to get me and one of the guys on better terms again,

which I didn't feel we weren't!

I understand we used to be a lot closer..but stress on both sides

takes it's toll sometimes, I never saw it as long term.

Hopefully he feels better about it now though!

work to care :)

Teeth Whitening..my thoughts! =

One thing I find that irks me

in this little blogging world

are the posts I see on teeth whitening.

They make me eeeee

with the thoughts of no no no!

Don't tell people that,

it's not true..wahhh!

I don't claim to know everything about whitening,

but I think having worked with dentists,

and doing whitening myself on patients..

I know a bit more than some people.

But these are my thoughts

and experiences.

I am not saying anything otherwise is wrong,

or not to carry on what you are already doing if you are happy!

I don't want to offend anyone.

Everyone wants nice white teeth,

I am not an exception!

It bothers me when you see in all these magazines,

Cheryl, Simon, Nicola yack yack yack

have all had whitening..

but err..they have veneers?

Maybe on the teeth further back..

but it's not realistic, it is not their real teeth people want to aspire to have!

I do use Crest White strips,

I trust them, my teeth are a bleaching shade from using them

and probably wouldn't go lighter if I had professional whitening done

in surgery.

I know a lot of dentists I have worked with

buy them for friends/family as an alternative

if they can't come in to surgery!

I love them!

As far as I know..

beauty places that offer whitening,

yes they have done a course, yes they are capable.. and allowed to offer it

but it isn't legal.

If something goes wrong then.. more fool you, and them I guess..

It's not entirely legal for dentists to do it,

but that is their field of work..

and they know more about the different percentages, what's in it etc

so if you want it done professionally,

PLEASE choose your dentist!

In fact, we had a lady the other week saying

she bought a kit from a stall in town..

that alone should make you wonder!

Just don't risk it!

Also laser whitening...is a gimmick,

its just a heated light that speeds up the process,

if you asked for a set of trays and gel

and did it at home,

you would get the same result..it would just take a little longer.

and be a lot cheaper.

In fact..you could probably wear them on a sunbed and it wouldn't be any different

ha...not that I suggest you all go and try!! :)

Whitening toothpastes/liquid stuff,

yes they will make your teeth whiter..

but only because they are abrasive

and are taking away the top layers of your teeth..

so...not worth it,

you will get sensitivity..and have nothing to protect

your teeth from more permanent staining.

Its the same with using bicarbonate of soda.

I think if you are considering it,

you should ask your dentist..

they know not everyone can afford it,

so there are alternative..

even if you just want to know how much whiter you can expect to go!

People with darker teeth will get a better result.

Or if it's just staining from coffee/red wine etc you are worried about,

you can always have air flow/air abrasion in surgery

which is usually around £40

and its

almost like a sandblaster (but obviously not really!)

that gets rid of all staining,

which whitening wouldn't get rid of..just cover!

I think it has an amazing result, and should be offered before whitening

anyway regardless!

But as I said, these are my thoughts!

I hope they make sense..and are of some use to you!

Aussie Lusciously Light And Outfit >

A few weeks ago I told you guys

I won a little competition to be an Aussie Angel

for the Lusciously Light campaign.

We were given the choice to pick between Lighter Self and Lighter Style,

I picked style, I never change my hair much and I thought

this was the perfect time to try!

But after seeing the other girls in the

Lighter Self tops they were sent, i'm a little jealous :)

But i'm very excited to be part of it all,

as I said I picked Lighter Style..I had no idea what was in store,

all very hush hush!

Until a very surprising package arrived at work!!

Not what I was expecting to open haha..

but all in good fun!

So inside there was a lovely little letter,

explaining over the next couple of weeks we would get a few styles and colours to try out

and see if any of them took our fancy!

Along with a lovely bottle of conditioner :)

I never guessed what we'd be doing,

but much to my surprise we were each sent a wig!

I've taken a few pictures to get your opinion,

although it's not too different to my blonde hair!

In fact, without flash..I wouldn't blame you for thinking it was an old picture!

So what do you think?!

I'm excited to see what else is coming up!

A number of weeks ago I was sent

a wee present from Dainty Roses,

one of the wire headband Rosey Bows..

which I have been lusting after for a long time,

but never found one that made me oooh..or ahhh

I also wasn't sure how much i'd wear it as I don't often wear

things in my hair

But my goodness,

I genuinely wear it every day, usually night..

lounging around the house,

taking off my makeup,

feeling cute and a bit glam while being a general bum

I LOVE it!

So pretty and easy to wear!

And I love that it was presented

so nicely!

I could not pick between any of the headbands,

I love all the patterns!

Luckily I was sent Josephine

which I think was the perfect choice!

and for £4 is a bargain,

with £1.50 p&p (£3 rest of world)

I definitely suggest you take a peek!

Last night was an interesting one haha..

I pinky promised a friend that I would go to a birthday with her,

a girls she was friends with in school but had just got back in

contact with!

Always a little awkward when you know no-one,

so I went along and it's funny how quickly you judge people.

The birthday girl was lovely, her friends..We immediately put in that

'chav' catagory.

They were.

But I feel a little bad because they were nice.

I still think they looked questionable though haha

oh i'm terrible!

Anyway my point is..

It is so hard to know what to wear

to meet people you don't know!

You don't want to be too dressed up if they are casual..

(which I felt I was)

or the opposite.. oh awkward!

This is what I wore..which isn't too dressed up for me,

I wore this with my fringed Topshop boots.

The weather was HORRIBLE before we went out..

I went shopping with my chum-pal Kayleigh today..

trying to find her a dress..

Haha..to be fair, the shops are lacking at the moment.

I barely saw anything for myself..barely.

and that's unusual!

Anyhooooo I bought some Butter London nail varnishes today

4 in fact..although I am considering saving up a few things

and throwing them at someone in glee when I reach 1000 followers!

I have seen a couple of posts with Sleek True Colour Lipsticks

and decided to buy a couple of my own in Superdrug

as they were 2 for £6.

I probably bought the most predictable colours for me!

Bah..oh well!

and

I'm sure as you can see I bought a matte - Papaya Punch

and a sheen - Barely There

I wish I bought Mystic..i'm getting into my purples :)

I could not for the life of me get a true picture of these colours on the lips!

So I am afraid its just a hand swatch today!

I am never keen on hand swatches..I want to see it on peoples lips haha

Nicer to see a before and after on different lip tones/skin colours..but i'm sure you can imagine!

Papaya Punch is a lovely colour but SO dry on my lips, I would really need

to condition before applying..I try to stay clear of matte lipsticks, and it was an error

on my part for not checking (oblivious while surrounded by numerous colours of lippy to choose from!)

I wanted Barely There, the main reason I bought any at all, it seemed a slightly darker..

pinky/brown nude..I don't own many nudes, and this is very wearable which

I thought I could get away with while the weather is warmer

and i've slapped a bit of tan on :)

Classy!

For £3.99, you get a really good choice of colours..

and although I like Barely There..not so much Papaya Punch as my lips

can't hack it ha :) I don't think I would be buying any more!

REET..so I had my hair cut yesterday..

and then went for a boozy night out with the bestie after

but by my standards..when it was at my bellybutton..

it's taking a bit of getting used to!
